Mobile Field
Shelters and Stables
We have been building mobile field shelters since 2005 and our unique
and distinctive design is the result of many years of continuous
development and refinement of our product. They are all based on a heavy
Galvanized steel skid frame which continues up to roof
height at the corners and around the doorways in the form of folded
steel sections which
are intended to provide a smooth and safe finish and also protect the
building from its life as a scratching post.
We have only one basic design and construction system which is highly
adaptable to almost any size and purpose you would like, as standard all
of our field shelters use plywood lining to half height for kickboards -
finished with a smart wooden rubbing strip at its top edge, the spaces
between the uprights in the walls structure are filled in, externally
they are clad in waney edged Larch weather boarding giving our buildings
their distinctive soft appearance.
Our roofs are a 20 degree apex design, based on plated trusses spaced 4'
apart, these carry purlins at 16" spacings and our front overhangs or
'canopies' extend to 4' beyond the front wall giving as much protection
from the weather as possible. We use black Onduline roofing sheets as
standard on all of our buildings; Onduline is considerably quieter in
heavy rain and condensates far less than a steel roof, and can also be
expected to have a long life when installed to the manufacturers
recommendations regarding support and fixings.
The
steel skids are made to order and are available any size and with your
choice of opening
positions and sizes. Additional options available include partition walls, stable doors
and shutters.

Our
unique design of steel corner and door sections provides a smooth and safe edge to the
buildings. If rain guttering is fitted then the Down Pipes can be hidden inside these
corner sections as they are always vulnerable in designs where these are outside the
building. |

Safety
is a primary consideration of the design and the steel skid finished is another
example of this. The 'turn-up' at the end of the skid is kept back underneath the corner
to avoid any unnecessary sharp edges.
There are two towing eyes fitted to each end of the skid, these need
to be used as a pair with a bridle type towing chain to balance the
towing force to each corner. |

our buildings are constructed by us on site, they are not pre-fabricated kits available

Black
Onduline roofing sheets are used on all of our buildings. Onduline has become the roofing
material of choice for equestrian buildings as it gives a much quieter roof during heavy rain
than a steel clad roof. |

20' by 12' mobile field shelter
with single 7' opening and overhang.5,900 |
Our shelters are based on a heavy
Galvanized steel 'skid' which gives them their mobility. All of our
steel work is Hot-Dip Galvanized as this is a far more weather resistant coating
than paint. The skid ensures that no wood is in contact with the ground
and avoids any resulting damp problems. |

with suspended wooden floor, 4' front canopy lined underside, and 3' full height door.5,044 |
Our
stable doors are made to fit into a 4'
opening. The lower doors are supplied with 2 traditional heavy
steel strap hinges, a sliding bolt and a kick-over latch. They are
plywood lined
and finished with a smooth galvanized steel bite guard.
The top doors are furnished with strap hinges and a sliding bolt.

24' by 12' mobile field shelter
with 2 x 7' openings.6,651 |
Our shelters and stables are all lined to
just over 4' with exterior grade hardwood 1/2" plywood. The uprights are spaced
16" apart - closer than the usual 24" which creates a really solid wall. The
plywood is finished at the top with a chamfered wooden rubbing strip.
The spaces between
the uprights are filled in to create a small shelf above the plywood lining. |

with sliding breast rails.6,223 |
The sliding breast rails
are a simple alternative to the stable doors if you might want to keep a
horse in occasionally. |

'Waney' or natural edge Larch weather
boarding is used to clad all of our buildings. This very traditional cladding gives the
buildings a nice soft appearance and gives them their unique character. |
